Virginia’s Quality Rating and Improvement System

Virginia Quality is a voluntary program to assess, improve, and communicate the level of quality in early care and education settings. Virginia Quality considers four quality standards when rating a facility:

  • Education & Qualifications (assessed by documentation)
  • Curriculum & Assessment (assessed by documentation and observation)
  • Environment (assessed by observation)
  • Interactions (assessed by observation)
